Decarbonisation is a term used to describe taking man made carbon dioxide emissions out of a certain region, country or system. These emissions cause human induced climate change. For simplification, Decarbonise Now includes taking all human induced greenhouse gas emissions, not just carbon dioxide, out of the UK. To find out more about climate change, click on the Climate Change tab. To look at where the UK’s emissions originate from, click the electricity, transport, buildings, industry, and land use tabs for more information.
